#16: Dita Von Teese, The Beginning
Marilyn Manson met Dita Von Teese in 2001, when she was already known as the queen of modern burlesque. Unlike many who flinched at his darkness, Dita was fascinated by it. They connected over their shared love of old Hollywood glamour and theatrical artifice, speaking the same visual, dramatic language.

Their courtship was surprisingly traditional beneath all the glitter and strangeness. He sent her handwritten letters, rare books, and old films he thought she’d love. Dita later said he pursued her with an old-world charm she didn’t expect, revealing a softer, romantic side the public rarely got to see.
