Mario Lemieux, nicknamed “Super Mario,” debuted with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1984 and quickly became one of the NHL’s most gifted scorers. Standing 6’4″, he combined size, grace, and skill to dominate defenses. He won multiple scoring titles and two Stanley Cups as a player in Pittsburgh.

He was remembered for his incredible ability to control games almost singlehandedly, scoring highlight-reel goals even while battling injuries and illness. His perseverance and flair made him a symbol of resilience, earning three Hart Trophies, two Conn Smythes, and cementing his reputation as one of hockey’s greatest offensive talents.
