#4: Emergency or Science Experiment?
Kids are fearless in a way that adults aren’t. Maybe it’s because everything is new and exciting. Maybe it’s because they don’t know any better. Whatever the reason, their fearlessness can be a blessing in disguise. This ER doctor once had a child patient who had a pencil go clean through his hand.

Instead of panicking, this kid was excited about the whole ordeal. There was very little blood, so the wound was pretty clean and straightforward. Plus, the kid was excited to see the X-ray of his hand and the pencil going through it. We’re not going to lie; that would be a pretty cool thing to see. We get it. Maybe this kid will become a doctor!
