#45: Fitting In
Trying to fit in is like trying to jam a square peg into a round hole: uncomfortable, impossible, and ultimately pointless. We’ve all been there. Maybe it was in high school, trying to fit in with the cool kids, or at work, pretending to be interested in your boss’s weekend plans. It’s tempting to change who we are in order to fit in, to mold ourselves into the shape of the people around us.
But at what cost? Is it really worth sacrificing our authenticity and individuality just to be accepted by others? Maybe it’s time to embrace our quirks, our differences, and our unique perspectives. After all, isn’t that what makes life interesting? So the next time you feel the pressure to conform, take a deep breath and remember: you’re a beautiful, unique, and slightly weird square peg. And if the round hole doesn’t appreciate that, it’s their loss. Just find a square hole instead.
